Personal Care Aide

Description

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, while maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Tasks

  • Assist residents with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and repositioning.
  • Ensure residents’ physical comfort and mental well-being, treating all with respect and dignity.
  • Prepare residents for meals, assist with meal distribution, and monitor food/fluid intake.
  • Observe and document residents’ conditions; report changes to professional staff promptly.
  • Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents as directed.
  • Provide nursing care per resident care plans under licensed nurse supervision.
  • Promote professional relationships, follow confidentiality, safety, and sanitation protocols.

Qualifications / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be free from a medical condition, including drug or alcohol addiction, that would limit direct care staff persons from providing necessary personal care services with reasonable skill safety.
