RN Supervisor

Description

Provide supervision to nursing staff and professional nursing care to residents as prescribed by a physician and in accordance with nursing practices standards and registered nurse scope of practice.

Tasks

  • Supervises nursing staff daily: scheduling, recruitment, orientation, policy communication, and staffing.
  • Monitors resident care and staff performance to ensure compliance with physician orders and facility policies.
  • Administers medications and treatments per care plans and established protocols.
  • Assesses residents’ physical/emotional status; documents changes accurately in medical records.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans.
  • Uses problem-solving skills to improve resident care in coordination with the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Ensures a safe environment, infection control, and emergency preparedness; communicates with families and staff.

Qualifications / Education

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited school of nursing is necessary. Completion of Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Current RN license is required. Employee must be in good standing with the state. Possession of a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate is required.
  • Sufficient experience in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved. Prior experience as a Staff Nurse is required. A minimum of one year as a Charge Nurse or supervisory experience in an assisted living facility is preferred.
