Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

Description

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, while maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Tasks

  • Knowledge of food service, sanitation, dietary processes, therapeutic diets, and labor laws.
  • Apply personnel administration and budgeting principles for efficient food service operations.
  • Supervise food quality, quantity, inventory, ordering, and maintain records including census data.
  • Assist in recipe standardization, menu cycles, training, cleaning schedules, and supply inspections.
  • Use computerized menu/tray card systems; confer with dietitians on unusual dietary issues.
  • Maintain sanitation, equipment upkeep, dining room visits, and report food acceptability.
  • Attend meetings, keep good staff relations, perform assigned tasks, and be available for emergencies.

Qualifications / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or verification of active pursuit of its equivalent is required.
  • Nursing Assistant certification is required after working 120 days. Additionally, a Nursing Assistant must be in good standing with the State.
  • Sufficient education in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved.
