Description
Responsible for directing and supervising dining services aides, cooks, and clerks in dining services. They maintain records, schedules, and are responsible for daily operations in dietary services.
Tasks
- Applies food service principles, sanitation, and dietary standards to meal prep and service.
- Coordinates with facility departments to align dietary services with resident care needs.
- Oversees food quality, staff schedules, inventory, and cost control using Kronos and related systems.
- Maintains dietary records, prepares reports, and assists in staff training and recipe standardization.
- Reviews admissions, diet changes, and addresses resident dietary concerns in the absence of dietitian.
- Manages procurement by evaluating food supply quality, pricing, and vendor options.
- Keeps current with dietary trends, ensures compliance with regulations, and supports quality assurance.
Qualifications / Education
- High school diploma or equivalent,
- College degree in Food Service/Nutrition.
- 1 year of experience in quantity food service, preferably in a health facility setting.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or completion of DMA approved or ADA approved food service course preferred but not required.
