Description
Responsible for preparation and serving and of food. Follows food storage policies and insures a clean and sanitary work environment through cleaning and ware washing within the department. Follows established sanitary and infection control policies and procedures.
Tasks
- Assists cooks with prep, cooking, portioning, and serving meals to residents.
- Sets up trays, delivers food, and restocks unit dining areas with supplies.
- Works as server/host, helps residents during meals, cleans dining areas.
- Prepares salads, desserts, gelatin, and follows standardized recipes.
- Operates and sanitizes kitchen equipment; uses dish machine and warewashing sink.
- Reviews menus, adjusts recipes for diets, and stores supplies properly.
- Supports special events, unloads stock, and keeps kitchen areas clean and orderly.
Qualifications / Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year working experience as food service worker in a hospital, institution, or restaurant preferred but not required
