Description
Responsible for assisting with activities for the residents of the nursing facility in accordance with each individual’s total plan of care.
Tasks
- Participate in projects improving quality of life for residents and staff.
- Assist and encourage residents in developmental and quality of life activities.
- Transport residents and accompany them to off-unit activities and bus trips.
- Visit assigned residents one-to-one weekly; assist at mealtimes.
- Lead active, passive, or sensory activities with residents.
- Instruct and supervise volunteers; maintain activity supplies orderly.
- Assist in planning facility-wide programs and events.
Qualifications / Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Preferred 1 year experience in social/recreational programs, in nursing home or assisted living/personal care setting.
