Description
Responsible for providing direct care to the residents. Such care must be delivered in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility. And as may be required by the Director of Nursing Services designee.
Tasks
- Observe residents' physical/emotional status; report changes to LPN/RN supervisor promptly.
- Provide personal care: toileting, changing, cleaning, catheter care, and incontinence support.
- Assist with feeding, hydration, nourishments; monitor and support residents' dietary needs.
- Bathe, dress, groom residents; support oral hygiene, nail care, shaving, and skin integrity.
- Reposition, transfer, transport residents safely; use lifts, walkers, and mobility aids as needed.
- Perform basic nursing tasks: take vitals, collect specimens, apply braces, assist with therapy.
- Maintain resident rights and safety; follow infection control, confidentiality, and care policies.
Qualifications / Education
- Moderate academic skills at the level normally acquired through the completion of high school. Nursing Assistant certification required within four months of employment, experience working in an extended care or medical facility preferred.
- *Must possess a valid Nursing Assistant Certification in the state of PA
- *Must maintain a minimum of twelve (12) hours of in-service education is required annually.
