Description

Responsible for operating and monitoring the press system to ensure the production of high-quality panels that meet required specs. Role involves controlling process variables such as temperature, pressure, and resin application while coordinating with other departments to maintain smooth production flow. Plays a key role in ensuring efficiency, product consistency, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.

Tasks

  • Operate and adjust press settings (temperature, pressure, cycle times) for optimal board quality.
  • Monitor and maintain glue application systems to ensure proper resin distribution.
  • Inspect boards for defects, thickness variations, and surface quality, making adjustments.
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream operations to optimize production flow.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and report mechanical/process issues to maintenance.
  • Follow safety protocols, including LOTO, high-pressure safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain records of process parameters, downtime, quality checks, and assist with repairs.

Qualifications / Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months or more of work experience
  • Experience in a wood products manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in material handling, forklift operation, production operation, machine operation, or utility
  • Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
