Description

Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of mobile equipment used throughout the plant, including forklifts, loaders, man lifts, and other heavy machinery. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment by performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues, and completing necessary repairs. Plays a key role in minimizing equipment downtime and supporting plant operations by keeping essential vehicles and machinery in optimal working conditions.

Tasks

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mobile equipment like forklifts, loaders, and skid steers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
  • Diagnose and repair issues with engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, and brakes.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Work with operators to identify and prevent potential equipment breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of parts.
  • Support emergency breakdown response and assist with equipment modifications/upgrades.

Qualifications / Education

  • High School Diploma or GED; technical certification in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Six months or more of work experience
  • Experience with maintaining and repairing mobile equipment, including forklifts, loaders, and trucks.
  • Experience working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment
  • Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
