Description
Responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, product quality, and overall plant performance. Role involves monitoring key production metrics, troubleshooting process issues, and collaborating with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives. Plays a critical role in reducing waste, maximizing throughput, and ensuring MDF production meets performance and quality standards.
Tasks
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Monitor process parameters (refining, resin, pressing, finishing) for consistency and compliance.
- Identify inefficiencies and collaborate with teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Lead process improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methods.
- Provide technical support on refining, pressing, sanding, and saw operations.
- Work with quality teams to ensure specs are met and investigate defects’ root causes.
- Evaluate process control, automation, and equipment to improve performance and reduce costs.
Qualifications / Education
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing engineering. 3-5+ years of experience in process optimization, preferably in MDF, wood products, or a similar manufacturing industry.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize production processes. Ability to analyze process data and implement improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Experience with process modeling, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis. Collaboration skills to work with production, quality, and maintenance teams.
