Description

Responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing the plant's control systems, automation, and instrumentation to ensure efficient and reliable MDF production. This role involves troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and networked control systems, improving process automation, and collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to enhance system performance. Plays a crucial role in minimizing downtime, improving safety, and ensuring consistent product quality through advanced control strategies.

Tasks

  • Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and automated control systems.
  • Maintain and optimize control networks, instrumentation, and communication protocols.
  • Enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality through automation.
  • Support maintenance teams in diagnosing control system failures and electrical issues.

Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,Automation, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and controls system design.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, preferably in MDF or wood products.
  • Expertise in PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and SCADA systems. Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and control systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, VFDs, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to program, mondify, and optimize automated processes.
  • Experience with process safety and electrical code compliance.
