Description

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Leads safety initiatives, conducts training, and collaborates with leadership and employees to foster a culture of excellence. Ensures compliance with OSHA, company policies, and industry best practices while proactively identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.

Tasks

  • Develop and improve safety policies to meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Ensure OSHA, state, and local compliance through audits, inspections, and documentation.
  • Lead investigations on incidents and near misses, driving root cause analysis and solutions.
  • Deliver training on hazard recognition, PPE, LOTO, and emergency response procedures.
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses to mitigate safety risks.
  • Manage emergency response plans and coordinate drills for various incident scenarios.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, committees, and behavior programs.

Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations, hazard assessments, and safety audits. Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Strong leadership and training skills to promote a safety culture.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
