The Sort Station Operator directs boards and cants to the resaw or gang edger.

Comply with safety standards at all times and correct/report any observed safety hazards.
Measure and direct boards and cants to the correct area.
Monitor and maintain flow of the:
infeed and outfeed rolls on the resaw,
infeed cant deck, and
cant flippers from the headsaw.
Assist in changing saws and maintaining resaw infeed and outfeed chains.
Perform startup and shutdown equipment inspections. Perform weekly PM inspections.
Report manufacturing defects to the supervisor.
Clean and maintain working area and equipment.
Train new operators.
Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.

Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Ability to recognize lumber size and measure lumber with tape measure.
Ability to follow all company, state and federal safety rules when performing required job duties.
Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal history check and a pre-employment drug screening.
