Recovery Assistance Consumer Aide

Description

Provides recovery assistance services to consumers living in the community. These services include transportation to obtain necessities for living such as prescriptions, groceries, and clothing. Provide assistance, when requested from Forest-Warren Human Services, for such tasks as light housekeeping and relocating if necessary. Perform other services as requested by the Beacon Light Adult Services Treatment Team or Forest-Warren Human Services which may not be provided by Blended Case Managers, Peer Support Specialists, or Mobile Medication Staff.

Tasks

  • The documentation of important information and data in a timely and professional manner. Completing appropriate paperwork as assigned. Providing supportive services to consumers such as transportation, and assistance with tasks that are not provided by Blended Case Management, Peer Specialists, or Medication Management programs but are requested by the Beacon Light Adult Services Treatment Team or Forest-Warren Human Services. Maintaining regular contact (with the consumer's consent) with family, friends, and other community members in order to develop and/or enhance the consumer's natural support network. Assists the consumer in locating and establishing ongoing relationships with individuals and services which are considered non-mental health resources. Working a flexible schedule as necessary to meet consumer needs which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed/as appropriate.

Qualifications / Education

  • Be a self identified individual who has received or is receiving state priority group services. Have a high school diploma or GED. Two years’ work experience in human services which must include one year of mental health direct care experience or a BA with academic concentration in an area relevant to the position. Completed and passed a Peer Specialist certification training program including written examination, which is offered in accordance with guidelines defined by OMHSAS, DPW is preferred but not required.
