Description
A pediatric dentist is a licensed dentist that specializes in the oral care of children, including infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents, as well as those with special needs.
Tasks
- Provide preventive dental care, education, and treatment.
- Manage child dental anxiety and create a positive environment for young patients.
- Perform procedures such as fillings, extractions, and space maintainers.
- Provide interceptive orthodontics and early dental care education.
Qualifications / Education
- DDS or DMD degree.
- Completion of a 2-3 year residency in pediatric dentistry.
- Board certification is available.
