Description

A pediatric dentist is a licensed dentist that specializes in the oral care of children, including infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents, as well as those with special needs.

Tasks

  • Provide preventive dental care, education, and treatment.
  • Manage child dental anxiety and create a positive environment for young patients.
  • Perform procedures such as fillings, extractions, and space maintainers.
  • Provide interceptive orthodontics and early dental care education.

Qualifications / Education

  • DDS or DMD degree.
  • Completion of a 2-3 year residency in pediatric dentistry.
  • Board certification is available.
