Description

A dental public health residency is a post-doctoral education program for licensed dentists interested in specializing to prevent dental diseases and improve oral health at the community level, often focusing on policy, education, and outreach.

Tasks

  • Develop community health programs.
  • Conduct research on oral health trends.
  • Promote public policies related to oral health.
  • Educate the public about preventive measures.

Qualifications / Education

  • DDS or DMD degree.
  • Master of Public Health (MPH) or similar qualifications may be required.
  • No formal residency is required, but additional training is common.
