Dispatcher

Utilizes a predetermined delivery schedule system to routinely schedule all deliveries and vendor/jobsite pickups. Supervises a staff of drivers including CDL Class A, Boom, and non-CDL drivers to meet the needs of the delivery schedules while increasing the productivity of the drivers and the delivery fleet and meeting or exceeding the customer service standards of the location.

• Schedule equipment and personnel for deliveries per customer needs and service commitments.
• Coordinate vendor merchandise and jobsite pick-ups within the delivery schedule.
• Process customer backorders and maintain backorder files.
• Schedule backorder deliveries as merchandise becomes available.
• Invoice deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy.
• Work with staff to handle short-lead delivery requests.
• Oversee daily vehicle maintenance per company guidelines.

• Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to relate the requirements of combined delivery orders to the geographical area(s) and specified time frames for delivery in order to combine loads. Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts in order to calculate board footage and load weights. Two to four years’ experience in industry related delivery, dispatching, or supervisory functions. Knowledgeable of DOT regulations and ability to comply with same. Knowledge of lumber and building materials. Knowledge of delivery methods and techniques. Ability to complete a forklift operator’s certification as appropriated by location management.
