Description

Responsible for teaching one or more core content or elective subjects for students that may range in grades K-12 as assigned and certified. Teachers may use creativity, humor and imagination to develop schemes of work and to plan lessons in order to foster a healthy culture of learning within the classroom and to generate the most effective interactions with students. The special education teacher is responsible for providing accommodations to students who function on an IEP. When a student's IEP is due, the special education teacher is the teacher of record for a caseload of students. Caseload numbers will depend on the disability of the students. Teachers encourage, monitor and record the progress of individual pupils, and devise and tailor resources accordingly. They must also keep up to date with developments in their subject area, new resources, methods and national and state objectives/standards.

Tasks

  • Complete and monitor daily attendance in GradeLink, Evolv and Bradford School District (calls to parents/guardians, probation/parole officers, CYS workers, etc.)
  • Complete and email weekly update sheet on Bradford Community Students
  • Copy and mailings of cyclical paperwork (progress reports, report cards, etc.)
  • Copying/filing/mailing of school related information
  • Supervision of the individuals

Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor's degree, PA Certification in Special Education in required. Core Content Pennsylvania Certification preferred
