Description
Extends the role of paramedics to provide care in non-emergency settings, focusing on preventative care and chronic disease management.
Works closely with healthcare providers to offer follow-up care and reduce hospital readmissions.
Tasks
- Administer drugs, orally or by injection, or perform intravenous procedures.
- Administer first aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured persons in prehospital settings.
- Assess nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
Qualifications / Education
- 3 years experience working as a Paramedic.
- Additional training hours
- Additional Exam
- State licensure requires successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Paramedic program at the certificate or associate's degree level.
