Description
Coordinate care, perform clinical and administrative duties within the scope of practice of licensure and privileges for clients of the assigned program under the supervision of a qualified psychiatrist
Tasks
- Obtain, evaluate and document health histories
- Provide evaluations and management of clients; includes gathering comprehensive psychiatric/developmental/medical history at time of admission for psychiatrist's review
- Focus on identifying all physical health issues for each individual, as a major emphasis of care including coordination with primary care, dental, vision, speech therapy and occupational therapy providers as needed
- Order, prescribe and execute diagnostic and therapeutic medical regimens for routine and mental health care
- Analyze and interpret data, formulate diagnoses along with supervising physicians, problem lists, and establish appropriate plans for management of clinical problems
Qualifications / Education
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with certification Unrestricted licensure as Physician Assistant in PA. DEA registration. Ability to have medical liability coverage. Current approved credentialing for privileges in pertinent facilities. Experience with adult mental health, IDD populations strongly preferred.
