Machinist

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of hob cutting, shaping gear cutting machines, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

• Follow safety and sanitation regulations in all work processes.
• Calculate dimensions or tolerances using micrometers or Vernier calipers.
• Machine parts to specifications using tools like lathes, milling machines, or grinders.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools, or materials on machines for operation.
• Measure, examine, or test completed units for defects and conformance to specifications.

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of machining, preferably in Gear Cutting
• Must have excellent math skills
• Must be able to read a blueprint
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be safety minded
