Mission
OSHA's mission is to assure America's workers have safe and healthful working conditions free from unlawful retaliation. OSHA carries out its mission by setting and enforcing standards; enforcing anti-retaliation provisions of the OSH Act and other federal whistleblower laws; providing and supporting training, outreach, education, and assistance; and working collaboratively with our state OSHA programs as well as ensuring that they are at least as effective as federal OSHA, furthering a national system of worker safety and health protections.
For over 50 years, OSHA has helped transform America's workplaces in ways that have significantly reduced worker fatalities, injuries, and illnesses.
Services
- OSHA is a Federal Government Agency under the U.S. Department of Labor. There are a variety of jobs within OSHA. I was a Safety and Health Compliance Officer for 20 years. During that time I was out in the field conducting inspections at workplaces in both the construction industry and general industry fields. An Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspector is a professional who uses their knowledge of safety and compliance to assess if workplaces adhere to regulations. They help to reduce the number of hazards, accidents and injuries in the workplace through safe practices. I now use that knowledge and experience to help companies understand the regulations and assist in identifying hazards in a proactive way to prevent employee injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.
