About Office of Human Services

Incorporated in 1973 as a Not-For-Profit entity Office of Human Services purpose is to provide services that meet the social, educational, recreational, nutritional and health needs of persons living in North Central Pennsylvania. Office of Human Services provides services to approximately 4,000 persons over age 60 residing in McKean, Cameron, or Elk County in a typical year. Office of Human Services does this through cooperative relationships with 14 senior centers and over 50 health and human service organizations.

Office of Human Services is committed to provide services to older adults, to maintain their independence and live safely in their homes by offering programs that promote socialization, recreation, supportive resources, and a good quality of life.

Activities

  • Career Awareness Activities
    Career Days, Careers on Wheels, Industry Days, Career Fairs, Career Connect, Career Cruises, Virtual Career Café, College Cruises, etc.
  • Financial Reality Fairs
    These fairs offer an interactive experience in which students identify their career choice and then complete a budget for expected monthly expenses as well as the occasional “life” events that may occur. Similar to the game of LIFE.
  • Guest Speakers
    Guest speakers travel to the classroom to share their professional stories, knowledge, skills, and experiences with students.
