School Email Highlighting PA Six Careers for Educators (First)

02/20/2026
Preparing students for life after graduation requires more than career conversations, it requires real visibility into the opportunities available right here in our region. PA Six Careers is a regional career exploration platform designed to connect schools and students with local employers and showcase authentic career pathways available across our six-county area.

Explore Real Positions with Real Employers
One of the most powerful features of the platform is the Positions category, giving students direct access to actual job titles offered by local companies.

For example, in last week's email we featured Atlas Pressed Metals, located in DuBois, PA. While many may recognize Atlas for its metallurgy lab, engineering solutions, and manufacturing services, students may be surprised to learn the company employs professionals across more than 60 different positions.

Some of those roles include:

· Accountants, Buyers, Controllers, Customer Services, Sales, Account Managers

· Machinists, Millwrights, Molding, Sorting, Sintering, Sizing, Mechanics, Material Handlers, Tool and Die Makers

· Sorting, Inspection, Quality, Tumbling, Polishing, Shipping

· Engineers, Supervisors, Managers

· Janitorial, IT, Programmers

Additionally, Atlas provides a brief description of each position, along with the required education, qualifications, and potential career pathways.  This allows students to see not only what jobs exist in their community, but how to prepare them.

How the Positions Feature Supports Students
Through the Positions category, students can:

· View real job titles offered by local employers

· Understand the wide variety of roles within a single company

· Connect classroom learning to real-world applications

· Explore career pathways they may not have previously considered

· Identify education or credential requirements early

A Practical Tool for Educators
For educators and counselors, this feature also includes lesson plan to utilize with our site, which includes:

· Career research assignments

· Advisory or homeroom career exploration sessions

· School counseling discussions

· Career readiness programming

· Work-based learning awareness
